By exploring the local area, you can experience a range of activities. On top of that, you will taste the delicious local cuisine, making it an ideal destination for a three-day adventure.
Day 1: Rock Climbing
Kapetaniana is probably the most historic, in terms of climbing history, area of Crete. Rock climbing is based around the isolated village of Kapetaniana, and the climbing route was secured by Zbynek Cepela in the ’80. The picturesque, isolated, and wild nature of the Asterousia mountain range offers remote and peaceful rock climbing. However, it is only 75km away from Heraklion, and therefore it is very accessible.
There are over 150 climbing routes spread across the area, with a wide range of grades on solid white limestone rock. Almost all crags offer spectacular views of the Libyan Sea! The most ideal time of the year to visit, is either spring or autumn.
Day 2: Via Ferrata
We invite you to join us in an exciting and adventurous activity. A Via Ferrata (Italian for “iron path”) is a protected climbing route, built with a steel cable rail fixed to the rock, metal steps, ladders, suspension bridges, and zip wires. It is the only Via Ferrata in Crete, located in the Asterousia mountain range. It is moderately difficult (international grade B), well-protected, and offers a fantastic view of the Libyan Sea in the entire way! It’s a great way to get outside and enjoy nature, as well as challenge yourself physically and mentally. Plus, the adrenaline that the activity offers is unbeatable! You will also get to experience some of Crete’s most striking and rugged landscapes, with the added safety of the steel cable rail.
Day 3: Canyoning
The gorge is a typical canyon of the Asterousia mountain range, with long descents at the beginning, solid limestone, and spectacular views of the Libyan Sea. It is located south of the Asterousia mountain range and west of the summit of Kofinas (1231m). Crossing it will require 4-5 hours.

Mont Karfi

Juktas, la montagne à tête humaine (en grec Γιούχτας – Iouchtas), était un site religieux important pour les Minoens. Selon la légende, il s’agit du visage de Zeus, roi des dieux, et la montagne serait son tombeau. En effet, le nom Juktas dérive du mot latin pour Zeus, Jupiter. Sur la montagne, on trouve trois sites archéologiques, un ancien monastère et une église.
Gorge De Rouvas
€120.00Zaros est connu depuis l’antiquité pour sa source qui fournit encore aujourd’hui de l’eau fraîche. Le voyage d’Héraklion au lac de Zaros dure environ une heure et demie. Il en va de même pour le retour. La forêt de Rouvas, dans la gorge de Saint-Nicolas, est un important écosystème de houx d’intérêt national.
Eleftherna Margarites – Randonnée
€156.00La ville d’Eleftherna a été construite entre 970 et 820 avant J.-C. par les Doriens (Grecs du Nord), arrivés sur l’île à la même époque. La ville était l’une des plus fortes et des plus riches de Crète. Elle possédait un port situé dans la baie de Fodele. Grâce à ce port, la ville pouvait faire du commerce et communiquer avec les autres villes de Crète, la Grèce continentale, Chypre et même certaines villes en Afrique.
